Mixing is an art form. My Sonic Temple mixes stand the test of time, beyond current fads or trends. Get your music ready for release. Remote mixing is available and a great option during the COVID19 epidemic.

Yamaha U1 upright piano
Record your piano parts on a real piano with a pair of Schoeps CMC64 and a boundary mic to capture a beautifully realistic sound.

Vintage amps and guitars
My Sonic Temple offers a variety of vintage amps and guitars, such as Marshall, Fender, Gibson and Ibanez.
Voice over
Our experience also pays off when it comes to recording voice over for film and commercial. The live room functions as a very spacious and comfortable vocal recording space.
Vocal tuning
We specialize in vocal production, delivering top notch, organic lead and backup vocal tracks. Melodyne is used for tuning vocal parts as needed.
Synth & midi programming
From EDM to pop and rock, synth programming is an essential tool of modern music production. My Sonic Temple offers a great collection of software based synthesizers.

Bob Hodas, whose resume includes Abby Road London, Skywalker Sound and A&M Recording in Hollywood, My Sonic Temple features a large control, and mixing room, and a smaller sized THX© soundproofed recording room.
We are a 100% solar powered business.
Climate control and Wi-Fi
The studio features air-conditioning and an air purifying system to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Free Wi-Fi is included.
Critical Listening with Geithain-ME
The control room features a pair of Geithain-ME RL902 monitors, so what you hear at mix-down accurately reflects what your music will sound like in the real world.
Pro Tools and LUNA
At the heart of the studio are a powerful ProTools Ultimate system and two benchmark UA Apollo x8p interfaces. We also offer UAD LUNA with Neve summing and Studer tape saturation.

Johannes Luley, Engineer/Producer at My Sonic Temple
Among the many Los Angeles Recording Studios, My Sonic Temple is a true gem. It was founded in 2001, originally in San Francisco, and has been located in Los Angeles since 2006.
Studio owner Johannes Luley’s discography includes a two time Grammy© nominated album, independent and major label releases as well as original score for feature film and commercials. His enthusiasm for musical excellence drives him to elicit extraordinary performances from the artist and to create powerful and sophisticated recordings.

Johannes’ in-depth knowledge of music and composition distinguishes him in every aspect of the production process. Whether engineering, mixing or assisting with melody and arrangements, he offers a unique combination of technical and
musical expertise.
Background
Born and raised in Germany, Johannes began his recording career as a session player. He worked with major artists and top European producers such as Ken Taylor, Tommy Schmitt-Zijnen, Volker Barber and Edo Zanki. Johannes came to the US in 1993 and has been based in LA since 2006. In 2003 he began releasing his own music with groups such as Hopscotch, Moth Vellum and Sony Music recording artist Perfect Beings. He also put out two critically acclaimed solo recordings: “Tales From Sheepfather’s Grove” (2013) and “Qitara” (2017), both released on his My Sonic Temple label. Johannes is currently working on a new album, scheduled for release in the fall of 2021.
